A driver died in Lancaster County late Saturday after he slammed into a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the shoulder of the highway. Ephrata Police say it happened along the southbound lanes of Route 222 at mile marker 42. Officers say the car may have been traveling at highway speed and after the crash it caught fire. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone with information or witnessed the crash is asked to contact police.
