40,000+ Chickens Killed In Lancaster Co. Fire

More than 40,000 chickens died in a 4-alarm fire in Lancaster County Tuesday. Lancaster Online reports that crews were called at around 5:30 p.m. to battle flames in a building along Douts Hill Road in Martic Township. No humans were injured in the blaze. Firefighters saved the buildings on both sides of the destroyed structure. Officials estimate the damage at nearly $2-million.
