Just A Voice From Main Street: Just Random Thoughts on What Could Be. Ahh!

In a free society, when does Big Government become intrusive? When it takes away the choice of the individual and the private sector, and by its actions, makes choices that benefit one part of society while hurting another.  Can it be helped? Whose fault is healthcare?  What if there is not a bogey man or a “Big” something out there?  What if it is no one’s fault, but rather just the way things are? Then what do we do?   If a need has been created in our society over the years, has it best been solved by the public sector, or private sector.  If one believes that *Everything operates in the economy on incentives and disincentives,” , then you must believe that we have always found solutions to the problems that present themselves.   Do we still believe that each of us has a responsibility to provide for ourselves as much as possible?  But what about people who cannot because of physical, mental, or age-related reasons?  Do we not have safety nets built in for them where we do provide part of our money to help them?  WE must decide on how much we need to provide (What percentage?) of pour wealth in order to help take care of them.   That leaves us with those who can or could provide for themselves, but for whatever reason, will not do so.  If this is a problem for all of us to solve, then shouldn’t all of us who are expected to support ourselves have a monetary stake in it?  That is called responsibility.   So what do we do with those who aren’t, can’t be, or won’t be responsible for their healthcare?  What % of our own wealth is it our responsibility to pay to cover them, huh??   That really is the problem!  Now where do we go?  Let the people work it out; not the government.  They have shown that political solutions to real problems are false.  Where there is a need, the private sector will identify it and correct kit with a solution.  That is what we do on Main Street.  Not so much on Capitol Hill…Gary Sutton.
