Death Penalty Sought For Double Murder Suspect In Lancaster Co.

Lancaster County prosecutors will seek the death penalty for a double murder suspect. Officials say 56-year old James Sterbinsky of Lancaster is charged with killing his sister 53-year old Christine Ross, his niece 20-year old Autumn Ross and stabbing his 33-year old nephew back on July-18th. Prosecutors cited “aggravating factors” including killing multiple victims, one of whom was a potential witness in another case as well as children who were in the home at the time of the attack. Sterbinsky is being held without bail in the Lancaster County Prison. The last person to be executed in Pennsylvania was in 1999. In 2015, Governor Tom Wolf imposed a moratorium on the death penalty.
