I had just a few random thoughts on the passing scene:
Donald Trump did the right thing on DACA and turned from what was expedient to what was right. He stayed within the limits of his power to execute; not legislate. Now Congress, who represents the will of all of the people of this country can represent that will by passing legislation. The President, acting as a legislative branch over the past 8 years, have neutered Congress, and taken power out of their hands. In this case, the President is giving them back the power to act effectively.
TOPIC: For me, immigration reform is simply code speak for a do over because we didn’t enforce what we said we would do before. It also means that we don’t believe in borders or rules. It is amnesty plain and simple; and an invitation to come here by hook or by crook, embed yourself and stay long enough, and you will be given legal status at least and citizenship at most. Legal immigration is not the same as sneaking into the country illegally. If it is, then those standing in line waiting their turn to get here are the dumbest people on the planet.
